The latest gin of the Amázzoni collection
The latest gin of the Amázzoni collection
(G)introduction
Instead, there are people making gin out of apples, potatoes, wine and others by adding saffron, cucumbers, petals and leaves, or officinal plants, supposedly to create a phenomenal final outcome. In the more than four hundred years since gin production started, for sure, everything has been seen and drunk. Never, though, has a premium gin been made in Brazil. After all, there has never been a gin distillery here. Nor has a gin ever been so able to highlight & mix to perfection the gifts of this prodigal land and its people’s spirit with the respect for a centuries-old sampling tradition.
Born in the enchanted atmosphere of the Cachoeira Farm, its home is the first gin-only distillery in Brazil. Amazzoni is a 100% Brazilian product in terms of philosophy, ingredients and the manufacturing process. And in four hundred years this was unheard of. Until now.
Manifesto
For a long time, the beautiful youth ran every night with her arms out-stretched, trying to embrace her love. Until one night, she saw the reflection of the moon in a body of water and threw herself into her loved-one’s arms, but she didn’t know how to swim and the dark waters swallowed her; dragged her down into the depths. That was when, through her pure, naive ambition; her desire to shine, Jaci noticed the young Indian. Touched with admiration at such purity, he transformed her into a star. Today, in every drop of our gin, there is a renewal of Naià and Jaci’s union, between popular wisdom and vision, passion and daring, water as the source of life and the magic of the Amazon rainforest.
Amázzoni Gin and Amázzoni Rio Negro are deeply Brazilian, courageously against the grain, proud of their dreams, rooted in their own territory, but so contagiously cosmopolitan, pure, true, naive even, but aiming for the stars. The true nature of Amázzoni gin is born of the desire to offer the world the hidden notes of the Amazon and Brazil, lesser-known and, precisely for this reason, more genuine.
THE WORLD BEST CRAFT GIN PRODUCER IS BRAZILIAN
To create an exclusive design going back to the Renaissance medicine bottles, we revived artisanal techniques with recycled glass. The embrace that protects Amázzoni gin had to be special, like the liquid that rests in it. The bottles are produced one by one and their perfection is measured by the artisans’ watchful eyes alone. That’s why even the little imperfections are precious details that testify to the whole manufacturing process.

We may even pretend not to believe in destiny but it’s curious that the initials of our family names form the word ‘gim’, and only here, (as in the rest of the world it is called gin, with an ‘N’) could our spirit be born. The first with Brazil as its home, but with a strong international accent and clearly inspired by the ‘Italian dolce vita’.
Arturo Isola
Four quarters Italian by birth, having lived there for his first thirty years, he emigrated to Brazil moved by true love, setting sail from Genoa, his hometown, like Christopher Colombo, Garibaldi and his close friend, Tato’s grandparents. An architect and a designer by training, a painter by passion, and a curious globetrotter, he never stops thinking up how to create what he would like to find wherever he is. In Rio de Janeiro he created the bar he wanted to go to, the ice-cream that was missing, and the beers that he wanted to be able to drink. Now it’s time for the gin and then, tonic water and ginger ale. As a starting point for Amazzoni, he planted a tangerine tree in Cachoeira Farm as his father always used to say: “We are what we grow in life” and also because the tree’s fruits will make a good infusion. “I’ve drunk a lot of gin in both the Old and New World” he usually says “but making one really tastes like heaven”.
Tato Giovannoni
Alexandre Mazza
Of the three the only Brazilian on board, he first appeared in Operário Futebol Clube of Ponta Grossa, in the Paranà region. Then, in San Paolo, while flatsharing with jazz musicians, he swapped the ball for a bass, a passion that later would drive him to found the Totem recording studios, a basic meeting point for the Brazilian musical elite in the 90s. As a bartender and sometimes the manager of carioca bohemian hangouts, at times he used to switch from counter to stage (in Oasis’ supporting bands, among others). He literally saw the light in Paris, beginning to study refraction and other visual effects, and soon becoming a successful international video artist. His works on light multiplication now feature in many important museums all over the world. He had the idea of making the Amazzoni bottle transparent. A stickler for detail, legend has it that when the first Amazzoni bottle came out of the furnace, he yelled “Why don’t you speak to me?”
